1 week after LASIK

This is continuation of my post :Β 1 week before LASIK.

So I had my lasik done on 24th Feb 2017. My LASIK story is not a very happy one, sadly :D. I knew there are a lot of complications related to LASIK before undergoing the surgery but I was stressing myself a lot with all those complications and then decided to have it done anyway irrespective of the complications involved because my surgeon mentioned that I’m a good candidate for LASIK.

1 week post surgery my daylight vision has been excellent. In fact I had a great vision from the day next to my surgery itself. From then on day vision has improved a lot and it’s much better than what it used to be with glasses. I’m very happy with it. But now the sad part starts. My low light vision has deteriorated a lot. It’s not bad to an extent that I can’t do my day to day work πŸ˜€ but I definitely can’t drive in night because of the excess glare that I have. But all that is OK since these are complications related to lasik which go as time progresses but another major problem that I have developed is pupil dilation. Since surgery my pupil has been dilating more than what it used to because of some reason. My surgeon suspects it might be the dryness which is causing this problem. So I am presently undergoing treatment for that.

In dim light my pupil gets very big and that is causing all the problem.Β There are some supplementary drops which prevent excessive pupil dilation but they have side effects and also that is not a long term solution. Doctor has changed my medication and he has called me again next Friday. Let’s see how it goes.

So overall, I’m not too happy with my LASIK surgery. Day time my vision is better than ever but night spoils the whole joy of it. So I’m being patient right now and will see how things turn out. πŸ™‚

UPDATE:
My surgeon told my eyes are healing slow but they will heal completely. He told me not to worry and relax. It might take a while for things to get normal for me. πŸ™‚
